Today’s Episode
There are some questions you just know you should be ready for during an interview. Two of them are ‘what are your strengths?’ and ‘what are your weaknesses?’
In today’s episode I fully cover how to answer what are your strengths and weaknesses.
You’ll walk away with an understanding of:
- Why a hiring manager is asking these questions
- How you might get asked these questions (different versions to listen for)
- How you should (and shouldn’t!) answer them
- Why you should prepare to answer your strengths and weaknesses even if you’re not asked the question directly in an interview

Show notes
In today’s episode, I mentioned or referenced:
- The free Interview Prep Quick Start Guide
- I didn’t mention this in the episode, but if you’re more of a visual learner, you may find helpful this article, “What are your weaknesses?” It provides the framework I discuss in the episode.
- You should know your “assessments.” Here are a few to consider:
- 16 Personalities
- Myers-Briggs ( for this one, you’ll probably need to find someone certified in their assessment to take it and get the results)
- StrengthsFinder 2.0 (book with assessment) or StrengthsFinder 34 Assessment from Gallup
- Deloitte Business Chemistry (you might need to purchase their book if you want more detail than the PDF they offer on this page).
